The range of personal problems and issues which can be helped by hypnotherapy is possibly both surprising and impressive. As shown by this website and the menu immediately above, this is an effective therapy for dealing with many different difficulties.
However it should be stressed that hypnotherapy, while highly effective and frequently very rapid, is not some sort of "magic wand" offering instant, easy solutions.
It is essentially another of the "talking therapies" which include counselling, psychotherapy, Gestaltism, Transactional Analysis (TA), solution focused brief therapy or cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT).
In common with other "talking therapies" hypnotherapy requires the therapist and the client/patient to work together to achieve changes. The Therapy Partnership sees this as a partnership between the client and the therapist – in other words a therapy partnership.
To many people hypnotherapy is associated with stopping smoking, dealing with phobias or losing weight. But it can help also with many other problems which have emotional or psychological implications.
